Hyperliquid runs two layers: the core exchange chain, where spot and perpetual balances live, and HyperEVM, an EVM network where the native coin is HYPE and ordinary wallets, tokens and DeFi apps work. To use anything on HyperEVM you need HYPE for gas and usually a stablecoin or HYPE itself to trade with.
Soheil compares the bridges and exchanges that reach HyperEVM and builds one transaction that takes what you have on another network, bridges it and swaps it into the token you want on arrival.
Step by step
- Connect the wallet that holds the funds (MetaMask, Rabby or Phantom for an EVM network; Phantom or Solflare for Solana).
- Pick what you pay with, for example USDC on Base or SOL on Solana, and choose HYPE or USDC on HyperEVM as the destination. The HyperEVM address is the same as your EVM address.
- Enter the amount. Within a few seconds you see every route with what you receive after all costs, how long it takes and who runs it.
- Sign once. The transfer is tracked until the tokens land; the Activity page keeps the record.
Which route wins
Routes are ranked by what you receive. A bridge that settles through a liquidity network (the route card names it) typically lands in under a minute; a bridge that waits for the source chain's finality can take several minutes, and the card shows the bridge's own upper estimate. The "Fastest" and "Cheapest" badges mark the extremes so you can trade a little output for speed when it matters.
If you want HYPE itself, choose it as the destination rather than bridging USDC and swapping later: the route includes the swap, and you arrive with gas.
Costs
Three things are deducted, all shown before you sign: the network fee on the chain you send from, the bridge or exchange fee priced into the quote, and the service fee (its own line, lower at higher levels). Nothing else is taken on arrival.
After you arrive
Keep a little HYPE for gas. If you came from Solana or Bitcoin, the destination is still your EVM address, so add the HyperEVM network to your wallet to see the balance; the swap page does this for you when you connect.
