A cross-chain trade has three costs, and a good interface shows all of them before you sign. Here is what each one is on Soheil, who gets it and how to keep it small.
1. Network fee (gas)
Paid to the validators of the chain you send from, in that chain's coin. It depends on the chain, not on the amount: a few cents on Base, Arbitrum or Solana, more on Ethereum mainnet at busy times. Your wallet estimates it when you sign. A failed transaction still costs gas, which is one reason the route is built from a fresh quote right before you sign.
2. Bridge and exchange fees
The bridges and exchanges that move your tokens price their fees into the quote: the amount you receive already has them taken out. Comparing routes is comparing these fees plus the exchange rate, which is why the same trade can differ by a percent or more between routes. The route card lists each step and who runs it.
3. Service fee
Soheil's own fee is a small share of the amount, shown as its own line on the route, and paid inside the same transaction to public fee wallets listed on the trust page. Some routes carry none. Routes are ranked by what you receive after this fee, so a route that pays Soheil more can only lead when it is practically equal for you.
Lower fees with XP
Every verified trade earns XP. Levels lower the service fee: Navigator (1,000 XP) 5%, Pathfinder (5,000) 10%, Voyager (20,000) 15%, Astronomer (75,000) 20%, Canopus (250,000) 25% off. The discount applies automatically to the connected wallet.
What is not a fee
Slippage is not a fee: it is the margin you allow between the quoted price and the executed one. Price impact is not a fee either; it is the price moving because your trade is large relative to the pool. Both show on the route when they matter.
