Every network charges its fees in its own coin: ETH on Base and Arbitrum, HYPE on HyperEVM, POL on Polygon. Bridge USDC to a network where you hold none of its coin and the USDC arrives, but you cannot move it. Gas on arrival solves that in the same transaction.
How it works
- When the destination has no coin for gas in your wallet, the swap card shows a "Gas on" line for that network (for example "Gas on Base") with a switch.
- Turned on, about $2 of what you send arrives as the network's coin, next to the token you asked for.
- It is paid from what you send, and only routes that can deliver gas are shown.
When to use it
Use it the first time you move funds to a network. Once your wallet holds some of its coin, you can leave it off.
